About Me

Gabriella West, Bernal Heights, 2009

Gabriella West is a novelist and editor who was born in Santa Barbara, CA, and grew up in Dublin, Ireland, after her parents moved there when she was two years old. She has a BA in English and earned an MA in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University in 1995.

Her novel Time of Grace (Wolfhound Press) was published in 2002. For several years she reviewed self-help books for Publishers Weekly. Active on Twitter and Facebook, she works as a proofreader and freelance editor.

West’s first-completed novel, The Leaving ($2.99), is available for download and purchase as an ebook in multiple formats on Smashwords. It’s the tale of Cathy Quinn, a stormy adolescent growing up in 1980s Dublin, and how she slowly forms her identity in the midst of her dysfunctional family and a conventional, stifling society. The Leaving is a realistic yet lyrical look at adolescence and first love, and a powerful exploration of how multiple losses can ultimately leave you stronger. Find it on Amazon here.

Gabriella West lives in San Francisco, CA. Her latest book is a nonfiction memoir/guide called Connecting the Dots: My Midlife Journey with Adult AD/HD. Time of Grace is now available in a new ebook edition.
